Welcome to Jeff Lambert’s Dirt Track Racing. I created this website to gather news, notes, pictures and videos about the racing at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York. OCFS has been hosting auto racing since 1919 and is one of the northeast’s premier dirt track speedways. The House of Power was originally built in 1857 to host horse racing at the Orange County Fair, one of the nation’s oldest and longest running fairs.
The track is located at 239 Wisner Avenue in Middletown, NY and is about to begin its 67th consecutive year of stock car auto racing beginning on Saturday, April 9th, 2016. Over the years many a driver has come to the Orange County Fair Speedway seeking that coveted victory on this historic speedway. Names like Hearn, Schneider, Eurich, Cagle, Reutimann, Van Horn, Brown, Strupp and Heotzler to name just a small few who have enjoyed success at the famed five-eighths mile dirt track.
I created this dirt track blog to offer my take and my views on this season’s racing events in 2016, a season that will host many divisions of racing including the CRSA Sprints, Vintage, Street Stocks, Sportsman and Rookie Sportsman, 358-modifieds, Thunder Trucks and headlining each and every week, the mighty Big Block Modifieds. Chasing 2015’s BB Modified champion Jerry Higbie will be drivers such as Tommy Meier, Tim Hindley, Chris Shultz, Anthony Perrego, Craig Mitchell and Jeremy Markle as they all will gather each and every Saturday night at the famed speedway in Middletown, New York to write their names into the history books.
This season Jeff Lambert’s Dirt Track Racing Blog will feature news and notes and weekly write-ups on the action at OCFS as well as my blog which I’ll be adding to as time permits throughout 2016. I’ll have driver interviews and Victory Lane celebrations along with my own exclusive photos and videos so stop back and see what’s new and what’s going on at the Orange County Fair Speedway.
Thanks for listening.
